Despised Icon is a Canadian deathcore band formed in Montreal in 2002, known for pioneering the deathcore genre with their brutal combination of death metal and hardcore elements. They gained significant recognition in the mid-2000s before disbanding in 2010, then reunited in 2014 and continue to be active today.
